On Sunday my daughter Kayla and I participated in the Easter Seals Run/Walkathon in Newmarket. We signed up for the 10K Walk and I cant believe I did. Its something I never would have done a year ago!!!
Here we are all ready to go. We were Team Epic Dollface :) We were really lucky with the weather. It wasn't too hot and it didn't thunderstorm like they said it would!
When we got to the half way mark, Kayla was saying that her feet hurt really bad. I told her if she wanted we could turn around and go back. She told me that we already came this far so we had to finish. She said it didn't matter even if we were last place, as long as we did it. We had my IPOD and she played the song "Push It" by Salt n Pepper to motivate us to keep going.
We did it, in just over two hours... and we were not last place (although we were close lol) but it didn't matter. I have never been so proud of my daughter. She amazes me everyday with her talents and this was no exception. We crossed that finish line and received our medals with a smile on our face.
We couldn't walk for the rest of the day and were dead tired.. my legs still hurt but I wouldn't have it any other way! A great walk for a great cause and I'm so glad I was able to be a part of it!!!
