May 6/12 - Happy Birthday to Me :)

It's crazy to think how much difference one year can make, but when I look back at my birthday last year and how far I've come since then... Crazy.

This time last year I was a month away from my gastric bypass, so excited to finally be close to having it done.

Now.  If I knew then all that I know now... Would I still have done it??? For a long time my answer was no. But now after Almost a year, I know I made the right choice for me even if has been more difficult than I could've ever imagined!!

My life has completely changed in so many ways, and on so many levels some days it doesn't feel real. The way people treat me is different, the way I feel about myself. I have so much more energy, and I'm doing things that I never would've even considered last year! Riding a bike, joining a gym ( and still going after 4 months!)  wearing dresses and cutting my hair off!!!!   I'm going to be doing a 10 km walk-a-thon at the end of the month that I'm really looking forward to!

My husband has always loved me, but we have become south closer through this and I love him so much for his continued support!!

I'm now at a new crossroad on my journey.  And that is dealing with all off the extra skin. I never imagined it could be as bad as it is. I wasn't planing on having plastics done to remove the skin but I know I wont feel comfortable if I don't at least address my arms...

So I have devised a plan to raise money for the much needed skin removal!  I have started to sell my crocheted cozies and hats.. And I have actually saved quite a bit of money so far! I don't know of its because people feel sorry for me or if they really like my stuff ;) but either way.. It's working! And I love doing it. It has been amazing for me. Keeps me relaxed and keeps my mind focused and busy and away from the fridge :) ( although sometimes I forget to eat all together!!).

My husband bought me the most beautiful dresser to hold all of my yarn and supplies.. Best birthday present ever!

I am feeling extremely blessed for all that I have. Happy Birthday to me :)
